Rick is a western North Carolina native, born in Sylva and a graduate of Western Carolina University. After a distinguished 10-year career as a Marine Corps officer, Rick attended the Wake Forest University School of Law. Following graduation, Rick practiced in Asheville specializing in estate planning, business law and real estate. Rick then practiced for six years with KPMG, LLP, a global tax and accounting firm. He worked with large public company clients in numerous industries, including providing tax, audit and financial regulatory compliance services.

 

Rick returned home in 2009 to Western North Carolina as an estate planning, probate and business law attorney. He is active in several local chapters of veterans and conservation organizations.
